About 3D Silver Foil business cards
Is silver more your style? Then add 3D silver foil as a flourishing touch to your card. Today you are in for a treat. Like our 3D gold foil, 3D silver foil is an innovation in itself. Add a layer to highlight a graphic element in your logo or feature a favorite design. It's easy to add a bit of sparkle when you opt for 3D silver foil.
Design guidelines
Free print on both sides!
Recto/verso print: just add a second page to your document.
Add a special finish
Add a spot color swatch (100% Black) for all the elements you like to be printed with 3D Silver Foil. Give this swatch a logical name. (for example: 3D Silver Foil).
We don't need a separate PDF file for the special finishing parts.
CMYK + 3D Silver Foil = 1 PDF file = CMYK + Spot Color (100% black)
Tip
Make sure all your special finish design elements are vector elements set to “Overprint fill”. This way you make sure that your CMYK design also fills the space behind your special finish design elements, so you won’t see white marks or lines.
Before exporting files:
Remove all objects from the artboard that are not intended to be printed, including any extra swatches, links or extra objects. Your artwork should be in CMYK color mode. Images should be at least 200 dpi (we prefer 300 dpi). Delete the guidelines layer if you used a template.

Extend the background of your design to fill the full “bleed area”. This way you don’t end up with white edges when your business cards are trimmed.

Keep all the important stuff for your design (like the text, logo, graphic elements, etc.) inside this area. Don’t add your background – that still needs to run to the edges of the “bleed area”.

This will be the actual size of your business card.
